OLG LOTTERIES


OLG has more than 10,000 lottery retailers in Ontario--from convenience store chains and mall kiosks to independent grocery and convenience store operators--offering online tickets (LOTTO 6/49, LOTTO SUPER 7, etc.) and INSTANT tickets.

By the numbers

Here's how every dollar spent on our lottery games was used during our 2007/2008 business year:

56.2% - Prizes

In 2007/2008, a total of $1.53 billion was awarded in cash prizes. Visit our Lottery winners section for more information.

26.1% - Province of Ontario

In 2007/2008, OLG lotteries generated $709.0 million for the Province of Ontario.

7.1% - Retailer commissions and bonuses.

A total of $193.1 million was returned to the economy through commissions and bonuses to retailers in 2007/2008.

8.5% - other operating expenses.

 

2.1% - Government of Canada

Paid to the Government of Canada for GST and for remittances under an agreement which stipulates that the Government of Canada will not participate in the sale of lottery tickets.
