A Major Winner is someone who claims a winning lottery prize of $10,000 or more. OLG issues a news release for every major lottery winner and posts the information on our corporate website for approximately 30 days.

Insider Winner News Releases
An Insider Win occurs where an Insider claims and is paid a lottery prize. OLG issues a news release for every major Insider lottery winner of $10,000 or more and posts the information on our corporate website for approximately 30 days.

Major prize claims by Insiders are subject to an independent investigation. The payment of prizes to Insiders is held for 30 days to allow anyone with concerns regarding the prize to come forward. The prize claim is publicly announced through a news release which is also posted on OLG.ca. Anyone having a concern regarding a prize claim may contact OLG at 1-800-387-0098.

Prize Winners of $1,000 or more
Newspapers, TV and radio all carry stories about winners of our million-dollar lottery jackpot prizes. But what about winners of smaller amounts? In our ongoing efforts to ensure the integrity of our lottery operations and maintain the confidence of Ontarians, starting November 4, 2009, OLG will publish information on all lottery wins of $1,000 or more right here on OLG.ca for a period of 30 days. This information will include the name, city of residence and the prize won for all individuals or groups who are paid a lottery prize of $1,000 or more.
