Support the Quest

When you play QUEST FOR GOLD LOTTERY, you are supporting amateur athletes in Ontario!

OLG's QUEST FOR GOLD Program proudly continues to help Ontario amateur athletes achieve their goals.

A total of 2,138 individual Ontario athletes have received direct financial assistance through the QUEST FOR GOLD Program. An additional 8,000 athletes have also benefited from the funding provided by the QUEST FOR GOLD Program through various competitions and events such as the Ontario Games and Canada Games. These events, along with many others, receive funding through the QUEST FOR GOLD Program.

Proceeds from QUEST FOR GOLD support amateur athletes in Ontario through direct athlete assistance, enhanced coaching and enhanced training and competitive opportunities. All profits from the sale of QUEST FOR GOLD LOTTERY are distributed by the Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion to support amateur athletes and the ministry's Healthier Ontarians strategy, ACTIVE2010.

The proceeds go to the athletes to:

  • help them continue their pursuit of athletic excellence at the highest levels of national and international competition while fulfilling their educational goals
  • increase athletes' access to high performance coaching
  • enhance training and competitive opportunities available to athletes; and
  • to encourage athletes to stay in Ontario to live and train.

Seventy per cent of proceeds go directly to athletes in the form of direct financial assistance, while the remaining 30 per cent supports enhanced coaching and provides enhanced competitive and training opportunities for athletes in amateur sport.
