Claiming your prize by Mail
MANDATORY: To claim a prize of $1,000 or more, you must complete a Lottery Prize Claim Declaration Form. This applies to both single and group play wins.
If your lottery prize is less than $10,000, you can mail the required items below to the OLG Mail-in Prize Centre. On average, your mail-in prize claim will be processed within 4 to 6 weeks of receiving the completed prize payment requirements identified below. If any of these required items are missing or incomplete, the OLG Mail-in Prize Centre will contact you directly to complete them. This may delay the processing of your prize payment.

OLG will not mail cheques for lottery winnings to the United States.
Lottery prizes under $1,000:
Include the following items:
- Your original, signed winning ticket. Fill in the required information on the front and back of the ticket. Do not put additional writing or markings on your tickets as this can increase the time it takes OLG to process your prize claim. Keep a photocopy of your ticket.
- If you had a retailer check your ticket, include the Customer Receipt printed by the lottery terminal or INSTANT ticket device.
- ID is not required for prizes less than $1,000 when claiming by mail
Group Winners should also include:
- A list of all winners in the group (first and last names).
- ID is not required for prizes less than $1,000 when claiming by mail
Lottery prizes $1,000 to under $10,000
Include the following items:
- Your original, signed winning ticket. Fill in the required information on the front and back of the ticket. Do not put additional writing or markings on your tickets as this can increase the time it takes OLG to process your prize claim. Keep a photocopy of your ticket.
- If you had a retailer check your ticket, include the Customer Receipt printed by the lottery terminal or INSTANT ticket device.
- Legible photocopy of 1 piece of valid government-issued ID with birth date. Please do not submit originals.
- Completed Winner Declaration Form (required for prizes of $1,000 and more)
- This form must be completed by all winners in order to claim your prize. If you cannot print the form from our website, you can still mail the first two items in this list to our OLG Mail-in Prize Centre. The Prize Centre will then send you a copy of the form to complete. Note that this can add up to two weeks to the processing time for your prize.

Group Winners should also include:
- A list of all winners in the group (first and last names). Lottery Prize Claim Group List.
- For each winner, include a photocopy of 1 piece of valid government-issued ID with date of birth.
- A completed Winner Declaration Form (Group) for each winner.
Prize Payment
The Prize Centre will mail your cheque via regular mail. If you would like it sent by another method, please include the appropriate prepaid courier or postage-paid envelope.
For group claims, the cheque will be issued
- to all of the names of the winners in the winning group if those names are on the ticket, OR
- "in trust" to the person who signed and completed the back of the ticket.
Following these instructions will ensure your mail-in prize claim is processed as quickly as possible.
Mailing information for winners outside of Canada
- Some countries do not allow OLG to mail cheques for lottery winnings. Call our Customer Excellence Centre at 1-800-387-0098 to inquire about mailing options to your country of residence.
- OLG will not mail cheques for lottery winnings to the U.S.
- Prizes over $250,000 must be collected in person at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
