MANDATORY: To claim a prize of $1,000 or more, you must complete a Lottery Prize Claim Declaration Form. This applies to both single and group play wins.

You can drop off your prize claim up to and including $250,000 at select OLG Slot and Casino facilities. Most locations can pay prizes of less than $1,000 in cash. Winning Tickets of $1,000 or more will be couriered to the Toronto Prize Centre on your behalf for processing.

The Toronto Prize Centre will mail your cheque back to:

  1. your home address if the prize is less than $10,000, usually within 1-2 weeks, OR
  2. to the OLG Slot or Casino Facility for pick-up if the prize is $10,000 and over.

You must be 19 years of age or older to enter OLG Slots & Casinos.

Important

Any incomplete documentation or other issues may increase the time it takes to process your prize claim.

To help process your claim, you should be prepared to answer some questions to help us verify the ownership of the winning ticket. You will be asked a series of questions including when and where the ticket was purchased, and if you or any member of your family is affiliated with OLG or with a person who sells OLG products.

For the quickest processing, follow the instructions below and bring all of the required documentation.


Lottery Prizes under $1,000

For the majority of visitors who claim a prize at select OLG Slot and Casino facilities, your claim under $1,000 can be processed in 10-20 minutes.

What to bring with you

  1. Bring your original, signed ticket. Fill in the required information on the front and back of the ticket. Keep a photocopy of your ticket.
    • Do not put additional writing or markings on your tickets. This can increase the time it takes OLG to process your prize claim.
  2. If you had a retailer check your ticket, bring the Customer Receipt printed by the lottery terminal or INSTANT ticket device.
  3. Bring the required identification.

Group Winners should also bring:


  1. A list of all winners in the group (first and last names).
  2. For each winner, include a photocopy of 1 piece of valid government-issued ID with date of birth.

Prize Payment

Select OLG Slot and Casino facilities can usually pay prizes less than $1,000 in cash. If a cheque must be issued, it will be in the name of the person who completed the back of the winning ticket.

For group claims, the cheque will be issued

  • to all of the names of the winners in the winning group if those names are on the ticket, OR
  • "in trust" to the person who signed and completed the back of the ticket.

Lottery prizes $1,000 to under $10,000

Winning tickets of $1,000 to under $10,000 will be couriered to the Toronto Prize Centre on your behalf for processing.

Lottery Prizes $10,000 to and including $250,000

If you are claiming a prize of $10,000 up to and including $250,000, staff at select OLG Slot or Casino facilities will forward your prize claim information by courier to the Toronto Prize Centre. A prize claim investigator will then contact you to review the details of your claim. For group wins, each member of the winning group will be contacted and interviewed individually. The process of validating your claim can take several weeks and may involve follow-up interviews.

What to bring with you

  • OLG publicizes ALL winners of $10,000 and over in a news release and on our website for 30 days. This release will include your name, city of residence and details of your prize. You will be asked to sign a form acknowledging your understanding of this condition.
  • You will also have the option of being featured on our website and other advertising mediums as a Featured Lottery Winner.

Prize Winners of $1,000 or more

In our ongoing efforts to ensure the integrity of our lottery operations and maintain the confidence of Ontarians, starting November 4, 2009, OLG will publish information on all lottery wins of $1,000 or more right here on OLG.ca for a period of 30 days. This information will include the name, city of residence and the prize won for all individuals or groups who are paid a lottery prize of $1,000 or more.


Lottery Prizes $10,000 to and including $250,000 - INSIDERS

If you are claiming a prize of $10,000 and over and fall within OLG's Related Party/Insider Win definition, the claim process will take additional time to complete. Staff at select OLG Slot or Casino facilities will forward your prize claim information by courier to the Toronto Prize Centre. A prize claim investigator will then contact you to review the details of your claim. For group wins, each member of the winning group will be contacted and interviewed individually. Retailers

Prize Payment

If there are no issues with your prize claim, and once your prize is approved for payment, Prize Centre staff in Toronto will inform you of your prize payout date. The payment of each Insider prize is held for 30 days to allow anyone with concerns regarding the prize to come forward.

OLG will issue a cheque in the name of the person who completed the back of the winning ticket, approximately 30 days after the prize claim has been approved. You can then pick up your cheque at the Toronto Prize Centre or at the OLG Slots & Casinos drop-off location. OLG staff must take your photo when you arrive to pick up your cheque.

For group claims, the cheque will be issued

  • to all of the names of the winners in the winning group if those names are on the ticket, OR
  • "in trust" to the person who signed and completed the back of the ticket.
