1 Introduction
- 1.1 These Promotion Specific Terms (the “Promotion Specific Terms”) contain the specific terms and conditions which govern the “Lottery: Buy a Ticket Online, Get a $15 Lottery Bonus + Your Ticket to Ride GO Transit Sweepstakes” (the “Promotion”). By opting-in to this Promotion, a Player, Prospective Player, Intending Player, or any other user (as applicable) (all the foregoing, hereinafter an “Individual”) is confirming that they understand, accept, and agree to be bound by these Promotion Specific Terms which govern this Promotion.
- 1.2 The Promotion consists of a bonus promotion, as set out in Section 4 ("Bonus Promotion") and a contest for a chance to win a Prize as set out in Sections 5 – 10 ("Sweepstakes"). Unless otherwise indicated, the term "Promotion" refers collectively to both the Bonus Promotion and Sweepstakes aspects.
- 1.3 Only Individuals who have not previously signed up for a Player Account on OLG.ca or any legacy website as of the date of participation are eligible to participate in the Promotion as further set out in Section 2. This Promotion is subject to the General Terms which may be found here. The General Terms are hereby incorporated into and form part of these Promotion Specific Terms. Any conflict or inconsistency between these Promotion Specific Terms and the General Terms shall be resolved in accordance with the General Terms, unless otherwise specified in these Promotion Specific Terms in accordance with Section 1.4 of the General Terms. Any capitalized terms not otherwise defined herein shall have the meaning ascribed to them in the General Terms.
- 1.4 The General Terms contain the terms and conditions that govern, among other things, Merged Bonuses, Wager Requirements, Wager Periods, and Qualifying Requirements. If an Individual does not agree with these Promotion Specific Terms of the General Terms, they must (i) not opt in to the Promotion; or (ii) immediately opt-out of the Promotion.
- 1.5 This Promotion is intended to be conducted separately and with a distinct set of Promotion Specific Terms from all other promotions being administered by OLG.
2 Eligibility
- 2.1 This Promotion is available in Ontario only and only to those residing in Ontario who (at the time of participation):
- are eighteen (18) years of age or older; and have not previously been registered for a Player Account on OLG.ca or any OLG legacy website (“Eligible Participant”). Volunteers, employees, officers and directors of OLG, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, and any of OLG’s advertising, promotion and contest management agencies are not eligible to participate in this Promotion. Volunteers, employees, officers and directors of Metrolinx are not eligible to participate in the Promotion,
- 2.2 In the event that an Individual does not meet the eligibility requirements as set forth herein, OLG has the right, in its sole discretion, to reject or disqualify the Individual from participating in this Promotion. A disqualified Individual will not be entitled to any Bonus, Entry, or any other substitute benefit due to disqualification.
3 Promotion Period
- 3.1 This Promotion is available from December 8, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. ET until February 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Promotion Period”).
4 How to Participate: Bonus Promotion
- 4.1 In order to participate in the Bonus Promotion, an Eligible Bonus Promotion Participant must complete the following steps in the order set out below within the Promotion Period:
Step 1: Registration
- Opt-In to the Promotion on OLG.ca within the Promotion Period by navigating to the Player Account registration page via the link displayed on the banner that presented the “Lottery: Buy a Ticket, Get $15 + Chance to Win a Year of GO Transit Rides” Promotion; and
- Complete the registration of the Lite Lottery Account in accordance with the Player Agreement and validate their email address within the Promotion Period.
Step 2: Play
- Within 336 hours (which is approximately 14 calendar days) from the time that the registration of the Eligible Participant’s Lite Lottery Account is complete (“Qualifying Period”), log-in to their Player Account; and
- Spend no less than one dollar ($1.00 CAD) on Draw-Based Lottery Games Played Online using Direct Pay and/or Unutilized Funds. For the avoidance of doubt, where a lottery ticket for a Draw-Based Lottery Game Played Online is purchased by way of subscription, only the lottery tickets successfully purchased during the Qualifying Period shall contribute.
- 4.2 Upon the completion of all steps set out in Section 4.1 and and after the end of the Qualifying Period, the Player Account of the Eligible Participant will be provided with a fifteen-dollar ($15.00 CAD) Lottery Bonus. If an Eligible Participant does not satisfy the requirements of Section 4.1, this Promotion will be removed from their Player Account and no funds, promotional offers nor anything of value of any sort will be provided.
- 4.3 Any Lottery Bonus provided pursuant to the Promotion does not expire and cannot be: (i) converted to Unutilized Funds; (ii) credited to the Cash Balance of a Player Account; (iii) withdrawn from a Player’s Available Balance; (iv) transferred; or (v) assigned.
- 4.4 If the Eligible Participant no longer wishes to participate in this Bonus Promotion after they have completed all steps set out in Sections 4.1, they must opt out from the “Promotion Lobby” page of their Player Account or by contacting Player Support through the “Contact Us” page or by calling 1-800-387-0098.
Your Ticket to Ride Sweepstakes
The Sweepstakes is sponsored and managed by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (“OLG”). Prizes and the fulfillment thereof are managed by OLG.
5 Odds, No Purchase Necessary
- 5.1 The odds of winning a Prize in the Sweepstakes vary depending on number of Entries received by OLG during the Promotion Period.
- 5.2 THERE IS NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SWEEPSTAKES.
6 Prize
- 6.1 There are a total of ten (10) prize available to be won in the Sweepstakes as described below (each a “Prize” and collectively the “Prizes”):
Prize Number Available Approximate Retail Value The Prize includes each of the following components:
- Ten (10) PRESTO cards, preloaded with five hundred dollars ($500.00 CAD) eligible for use on any transit agency that accepts PRESTO as form of payment (the “PRESTO Cards”), delivered to the Eligible Winner by courier; and
The total approximate retail value of the Prize is five thousand dollars ($5,000.00 CAD). The PRESTO Card will be valid for use by the Eligible Winner on any transit agency that accepts PRESTO, subject to applicable Metrolinx and PRESTO terms and conditions.10 $5,000.00 CAD - 6.2 There is a limit of one (1) Prize per Eligible Participant.
- 6.3 The Prize must be accepted as awarded and is non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash or credit. Any unused balance in the PRESTO Cards is not redeemable for cash.
- 6.4 All features or other details of any component of the Prize that has not been specified herein shall be determined by OLG, Metrolinx, and/or its designated agency, as applicable, in their sole and absolute discretion and are subject to change.
- 6.5 In the event a Prize cannot be awarded as originally contemplated by these Promotion Specific Terms for circumstances outside of OLG’s control, OLG may, in its discretion, substitute a Prize of equal or greater approximate retailer value. No substitutions are to be made except at OLG’s election. Except as specifically provided herein, an unclaimed Prize will not be awarded.
7 How to Participate: Sweepstakes
- 7.1 Opt In and Register a Lite Lottery account: To participate in the Sweepstakes by way of purchase, Eligible Participants must first opt in (“Opt-In”) during the Promotion Period and successfully register their Lite Lottery account within the Promotion Period as set out above in Section 4.1 (a) to (c).
- 7.2 Upon successful Opt-In to the Sweepstakes and registration of their Lite Lottery Account in accordance with these Terms, Eligible Participants may start earning Entries. If the Eligible Participant no longer wishes to participate in the Sweepstakes after completing the steps set out in Section 7.1, they must opt out from the Promotion from the “Promotion Lobby” page of their Player Account or by contacting Player Support through the “Contact Us” page or by calling 1-800-387-0098.
- 7.3 How to Earn Entries: After completing the above steps, Eligible Participants can earn entries for the Sweepstakes (each, an "Entry", and collectively, the "Entries") by using Unutilized Funds or Direct Pay during the Promotion Period, in accordance with the terms and conditions set out below:
- An Eligible Participant will earn one (1) Entry for every one dollar ($1.00 CAD) spent, in aggregate, as part of any transaction(s) purchasing Draw-Based Lottery Games Played Online (not funded by Lottery Bonus(es)) completed during the Promotion Period.
- For clarity, an Eligible Participant may purchase multiple Draw-Based Lottery Games Played Online, and earn multiple Entries by doing so, as long as such purchases are made during the Promotion Period.
- Where a Draw-Based Lottery Games Played Online ticket is purchased by way of subscription, only the tickets successfully purchased after Opting-In to the Promotion during the Promotion Period shall contribute to Entries; any lottery tickets purchased outside of the Promotion Period shall not contribute towards earning Entries.
- 7.4 For further clarity, for Eligible Participants who participate in the Bonus Promotion, every one dollar ($1.00 CAD) spent, in aggregate, to satisfy the requirement contemplated in Section 4.1(d) during the Promotion Period to earn the Lottery Bonus will also be eligible for earning an Entry(s) for the Sweepstakes in accordance with Section 7.3.
- 7.5 No Purchase Necessary Option: An Eligible Participant is not required to make any purchase or wager any Unutilized Funds to participate in the Sweepstakes. If an Eligible Participant wishes to participate in the Sweepstakes without such purchase or wager, they may:
- Print their first name, last name, telephone number and complete mailing address (including postal code) on a plain white piece of paper and mail it (in an envelope with sufficient postage) along with a one hundred (100) or more word, comprehensible, unique and original handwritten, essay (the “Essay”) on why they like Lottery Games on OLG.ca (the “Essay Question”) to: Digital Product Management – Acquisition, Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, OLG.ca, 4120 Yonge Street, North York, ON M2P 2B8 (the “Request”). The Essay must include the Eligible Participant’s OLG.ca username and address as registered on the Eligible Participant’s Player Account. For greater certainty, Essays that are not comprehensible or Essays that fail to respond to the Essay Question in one hundred (100) words or more, as determined by OLG in its sole and absolute discretion, are void. Each request will be deemed to have been made on the day it was received by OLG;
To be eligible as an Entry, any Request that an Eligible Participant submits must: (i) be received separately, each in a separate envelope each bearing sufficient postage (e.g., multiple Requests in the same envelope will be void); (ii) be post-marked during the Promotion Period and received by OLG during the Promotion Period; and (iii) specify the name of this Promotion, “Lottery: Buy a Ticket Online, Get a $15 Lottery Bonus + Your Ticket to Ride Sweepstakes” (Requests that fail to specify are void);
- To address the possibility that mail delivery is impacted by a labour disruption or strike impacting mail service during the Promotion Period:
- Notwithstanding the requirement under Section 7.5(a)(ii) that a Request be received during the Promotion Period, OLG may, at its sole discretion, choose to grant an Entry for an otherwise compliant Request that is received by OLG after the Promotion Period but before the Draw Date; and
- The Eligible Participant may alternatively submit their Essay through an online portal by visiting [https://npn.olg.ca/en-ca/GoTransit] (the “Alternative NPN Entry Method”).
To earn an Entry using the Alternative NPN Entry Method, an Eligible Participant must: (i) provide all required information, as set out on the digital form, including full name, birthdate, email address, phone number, and home address, and (ii) upload a legible photo or digital scan of their Essay in accordance with the file upload requirements of the digital form (“Digital Request”). Each Digital Request must be submitted separately by filling out the digital form and uploading an Essay that has not previously been submitted. In all cases, Digital Requests must be received by OLG by local close of business on January 25, 2025 in order to be eligible. OLG is not responsible for any delays in receipt of such Entries.
- The Eligible Participant will earn one (1) Entry for each unique Essay submitted. There is no maximum number of Entries that an Eligible Participant may earn during the Promotion Period through this method; and
- The Eligible Participant is not permitted to repurpose the same Essay for use in more than one request, whether a Request, Digital Request or any combination of the two; and
- The Released Parties (defined below) take no responsibility for any lost, stolen, delayed, illegible, damaged, misdirected, lost or destroyed Requests, including any delays caused by any labour disputes related to mail delivery (all of which are void).
- Print their first name, last name, telephone number and complete mailing address (including postal code) on a plain white piece of paper and mail it (in an envelope with sufficient postage) along with a one hundred (100) or more word, comprehensible, unique and original handwritten, essay (the “Essay”) on why they like Lottery Games on OLG.ca (the “Essay Question”) to: Digital Product Management – Acquisition, Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, OLG.ca, 4120 Yonge Street, North York, ON M2P 2B8 (the “Request”). The Essay must include the Eligible Participant’s OLG.ca username and address as registered on the Eligible Participant’s Player Account. For greater certainty, Essays that are not comprehensible or Essays that fail to respond to the Essay Question in one hundred (100) words or more, as determined by OLG in its sole and absolute discretion, are void. Each request will be deemed to have been made on the day it was received by OLG;
8 Selection Process
- 8.1 On or around February 13, 2026 at approximately 2:00 p.m. ET in Toronto, Ontario, Eligible Participants will be selected by a random draw (the “Prize Draw”) from all eligible Entries received by OLG in accordance with these Promotion Specific Terms. OLG may, at its sole discretion, delay the Draw Date for administrative reasons, including, without limitation, to process Requests received late due to a mail delivery disruption as contemplated in Section 7.5(b).
- 8.2 For the purpose of the Promotion Specific Terms, an eligible winner (“Eligible Winner”) is the earliest Selected Participant that has not been disqualified pursuant to the Promotion Specific Terms and is eligible to redeem a Prize, subject to Section 9.
- 8.3 The selection of Eligible Winners shall be determined as follows (each a “Selected Participant”):
- The first ten (10) selected Eligible Participant drawn will be the Eligible Winner for the ten (10) Prize;
- The next twenty (20) Eligible Participants will be drawn as back-up entries (“Back-Up Entry”) in the event one of the first ten (10) Selected Participant cannot be contacted, are found to be ineligible, or fails to complete the Skill-Testing Question. The Back-Up Entry will replace the disqualified Selected Participant in descending order in accordance with the order in which the Back-Up Entries were drawn.
9 Prize Redemption and Skill Testing Question
- 9.1 For the purpose of the Promotion Specific Terms, a “Winner” is an Eligible Winner who redeems the Prize by first completing the following requirements within timelines prescribed by OLG:
- the Eligible Winner must follow the instructions on claiming the Prize in accordance with Section 9.2;
- the Eligible Winner must confirm receipt of the OLG notification that he/she is the Eligible Winner in accordance with Section 9.3;
- if applicable, the Eligible Winner must satisfy the requirements in Section 9.5;
- if applicable, the Eligible Winner must satisfy the requirements in Section 9.6; and
- the Eligible Winner must correctly answer the Skill-Testing Question in accordance with Section 9.7.
- 9.2 An Eligible Winner will be initially notified of their status as an Eligible Winner and to arrange for redemption of the Prize by email according to the contact information associated with their Player Account within forty-eight (48) hours of the time of the Prize Draw. This notification will include a Skill-Testing Question as contemplated in Section 9.7. The second attempt will be made three (3) days after the first attempt, and the third attempt will be made within five (5) days after the second attempt. The second and third notification attempts will be made either by email or telephone according to the Eligible Winner’s contact information associated with their Player Account. The Eligible Winner will be required to follow the instructions on claiming the Prize detailed in such email to remain eligible for the Sweepstakes.
- 9.3 The Eligible Winner must confirm receipt of the OLG notification that they are the Eligible Winner, according to the instructions provided by OLG in its notification, within ten (10) days from the first attempt of contact to claim the Prize (“Prize Acknowledgement Deadline”). If the Eligible Winner fails to do so, they may lose any entitlement to the Prize and OLG reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to select a new Eligible Winner from the eligible Back-Up Entries that were received in accordance with these Promotion Specific Terms (in which case the foregoing provisions of this section shall apply to such newly selected Eligible Winner).
- 9.4 OLG will use reasonable efforts to notify the Selected Participant by telephone, email or mail, each of which according to the contact information registered on their Player Account, that they are an Eligible Winner and to arrange for the fulfilment of their Prize.
- 9.5 An Eligible Winner, when instructed by OLG, must execute, and return OLG's standard declaration and release form which, among other matters:
- confirms their eligibility and compliance with the Promotion Specific Terms;
- acknowledges acceptance of the applicable Prize (as awarded);
- releases OLG from liability in connection with the conduct of the Promotion and/or the awarding of the Prize; and
- agrees to the publication, reproduction and/or other use of their name, address, voice, statements about the Promotion and/or photograph or other likeness without further notice or compensation, in any publicity or advertisement carried out by or on behalf of OLG in any manner or medium whatsoever, including print, broadcast or the internet.
- 9.6 In order to claim the Prize, the Eligible Winner may be required to present a valid government issued photo identification. If the Eligible Winner fails to do so, the applicable Prize may not be awarded and OLG has no obligation to award any substitute prizes or rewards.
- 9.7 An Eligible Winner must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question (the “Skill-Testing Question”) without mechanical or other aid in order to claim the Prize. The Skill-Testing Question will be communicated to the Eligible Winner as part of the initial notification of the Eligible Winner’s status as Eligible Winner contemplated in Section 9.2. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, OLG may, in its sole and absolute discretion, administer an alternate test of skill as required to comply with applicable law (including applicable accessibility legislation).
- 9.8 If an Eligible Winner fails to respond to OLG in accordance with any of the instructions provided in a communication to the Eligible Winner, or if the Eligible Winner fails to correctly answer the Skill-Testing Question within the timeframes detailed by OLG, the Eligible Winner may be disqualified from the Promotion at OLG’s sole and absolute discretion.
Third Party Terms. The Winner understands and acknowledges that the Prize and the use thereof may be subject to separate set(s) of third-party terms and conditions, including but not limited to the PRESTO Terms and Conditions, rules, regulations, restrictions, and any other terms and conditions (“Third Party Terms”). The Winner is responsible for determining the Third-Party Terms applicable to the Prize (or component thereof) and their use thereof and hereby agrees to comply with such applicable Third-Party Terms. OLG does not make and expressly disclaims any representations and warranties with respect to the Prize and expressly disclaims any responsibility or liability to an Eligible Participant in relation to the use or non-use of any Prize. The Eligible Participant is solely responsible for complying with Third Party Terms; failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the Prize.
10 General Terms
- 10.1 Disclaimer. OLG and Metrolinx disclaim any responsibility or liability whatsoever in respect of any claim arising in connection with the participation in the Sweepstakes or any Prize awarded, including with respect of the following:
- The Eligible Participant’s use and/or enjoyment of an awarded Prize, or lack thereof; and
- The Eligible Participant’s failure to (i) use the Prize; or (ii) agree or comply with Third Party terms.
- The Eligible Participant's loss of the Prize, including but not limited to, loss, damage or theft of any PRESTO card associated with the Prize
- 10.2 Force Majeure. In the event a Prize (or any component or element thereof) cannot be awarded as contemplated by the Promotion Specific Terms due to circumstances outside of the reasonable control of OLG or Metrolinx, including but not limited to an act of God, acts or policies of any federal, regional or municipal governmental authority (domestic or foreign), strikes, lockouts, pandemic, fires, floods, earthquake, storm, or epidemic, OLG and/or Metrolinx shall not be in breach of the Promotion Specific Terms and, as applicable, may, in their discretion, without providing prior notice to the Eligible Participant, as applicable, and without incurring penalty or liability:
- provide an altered or modified Prize (or any component or element thereof) to the Winner as OLG deems necessary; or
- substitute the Prize (or any component or element thereof) with a prize (or any component or element thereof) of equal or greater approximate retail value.
- 10.3 Eligible Participants hereby agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless forever OLG, Metrolinx, and their respective direct and indirect subsidiaries, affiliates, owners, shareholders, officers, directors, agents, representatives, employees, successors and assigns (the “Released Parties”) from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, liabilities and costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) which may arise from, or in relation to:
- the Eligible Participant’s participation in this Promotion;
- any breach by the Eligible Participant of any covenants, agreements, terms, obligations, representations, or warranties set forth herein; and the acceptance, receipt, possession, use, misuse or non-use of the Prize or any component thereof by the Eligible Participant.
- 10.4 OLG reserves the right to deny an Entry or reject an Entry once accepted, for any reason which, in its sole judgment and discretion, it deems proper.
- 10.5 Personal Information. By entering this Contest, each Eligible Participant acknowledges and authorize OLG to use collected personal information for the purpose, or consistent purpose, of administrating the Contest in accordance with the OLG's Privacy Policy on https://www.olg.ca/en/privacy-and-cookie-policy.html.
