TORONTO, ON – Christine of Newmarket and Matthew of Etobicoke are $1 million richer after winning with INSTANT ULTIMATE (Game #2123). Christine and Matthew are one of the top prize winners from the draw held on December 31, 2022.
The aunt and nephew duo were with family during the Christmas holidays when they decided to buy this ticket together because of the odds of winning.
“We went to the store together to purchase the ticket,” said Christine while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up their winnings. “I scanned our ticket on New Years Day at 7:32 a.m. I was so shocked I thought I was dreaming! I called Matthew and told him to call me back ASAP.”
Matthew said he thought someone was wrong at first. “When she told me we won, I didn’t believe it. It was surreal and completely unexpected,” he said. “It’s insane. This win is even more special and meaningful because we won it together.”
The duo said it’s been a dream of both of theirs to own their own house, and this will be a great down payment for each of them. “I plan to pay off my mother’s mortgage,” Matthew said. “I will share some with my children,” added Christine.
“I didn’t sleep for three days! This is so cool – my stomach is still turning,” said Christine.
As Christine and Matthew begin to enjoy their $1 million windfall, the people of Ontario are also benefiting from the sale of the $100 INSTANT ULTIMATE game. 100 per cent of profits generated from sales of INSTANT ULTIMATE and OLG products, are reinvested into Ontario.
