Toronto, ON – John K. of New Hamburg can “find his possible” after winning $1,666,666.70 in the LOTTO 6/49 Classic Jackpot on March 11, 2023. John’s winning ticket shared the $5 million jackpot with two other winning tickets – one from Ontario and one from Western Canada.
The retiree says he has been playing the lottery for 35 years. ""This ticket was sitting in my pocket for six weeks. I went to the store to get gas and decided to check my tickets instead of waiting in line. I was in shock when I saw the prize amount,"" he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.
The 53-year-old father of two says he surprised his daughters by writing them each a cheque to pay for their education. ""They had tears in their eyes. They were so emotional,"" John smiled. ""They are debt free, and it feels good to be able to do this for them.""
He plans to take a family trip to Costa Rica, go on a safari in Africa, buy a new car and complete some home renovations.
"It feels surreal. This win will make such a difference in my family's lives," John concluded.
