Two-Step Verification
Two-Step Verification (2SV) is an extra security measure that requires you to provide two different forms of verification when you log into your account -- typically a password and a code sent to your email account, authenticator app, phone or another device.
This protection makes it harder for unauthorized individuals to access your account.
Whoops! Life got busy and you didn’t fully verify your email address after you registered. You cannot use Two-Step Verification until you have verified your email. Here’s what to do:
Double check your email from support@confirmations.olg.ca to make sure you fully verified your email address.
If it was over 30 days ago that you registered, the link expired.
If your verification link expired 30 days ago, please contact playersupport@olg.ca or 1-800-387-0098.
The process is simple and takes a few minutes!
Note: You can also access your Account Information in the OLG app, Proline+ and the PROLINE+ app to set up 2SV.
We have two methods to set up Two-Step Verification: Authenticator App and Email.
Here’s how to enable 2SV step by step:
For Online/Web:
SET UP TWO-STEP VERIFICATION (2SV)
LOGIN TO OLG.CA
ACCOUNT INFORMATION
Select the “Account Information” link from the drop-down menu.
EDIT 2SV
In the “Manage Account” tab under “Account Information,” locate the “Two-Step Verification (2SV)” section.
Select the “Edit” pencil.
UPDATE INFORMATION
In the Two-Step Verification dialog window, choose how to enable 2SV: via email or authenticator app.
Press “Save Change.”
DESKTOP AUTHENTICATOR
If you choose authenticator app, you will receive another dialogue window explaining the steps to set up and link 2SV to your account. You’ll need an authenticator app to link to your OLG.ca account. Download any Authenticator App to your mobile device or your desktop.
If you downloaded your authenticator app on your computer, press “Copy Manual Code” to copy it to your clipboard and paste it into your authenticator app.
MOBILE AUTHENTICATOR
If you downloaded the authenticator app to your mobile device, scan the QR code with the same device to open your authenticator app.
VERIFICATION CODE
If successful, the authenticator app provides a one-time password code. Return to the “Two-Step Verification (2SV) Linking” page on OLG.ca. Go to “Complete 2SV Setup.”
COMPLETE 2SV SETUP
Manually enter the code from the authenticator app into the “Verification Code” text box on your desktop.
2SV UPDATED
A green alert bar at the top of your Account Information page will let you know that you have successfully enabled Two-Step Verification. You will also receive an email confirming the 2SV activation and the method you’ve chosen.
2SV LOGIN AFTER SET-UP
If you are using an authenticator app:
You will have to use 2SV and enter your one-time passcode every time you login.
If you are using the email method:
You can choose to have your device remembered when you login for the first time after you have set up 2SV.
How? When you enter your verification code, underneath the verification code box, you can click on the checkbox, “Remember my device.”
Now that you’ve set up 2SV, you can quickly authenticate your account when you log in.
WEB/DESKTOP
Log in by entering your username and password.
The 2SV dialog window will ask you for your verification code.
If you set up 2SV for authenticator app, you will need to access your authenticator app to get your verification code.
If you set up 2SV for email, you will need to access your email to get your verification code.
Enter the code and press Submit.
If you are using an authenticator app, you will need a verification code to log in every time.
If you are using email, you can choose to have your device remembered at log in so you don’t have to use a code every time you log in with that device.
You should expect to enter a code after switching web browsers, updating software on your device, or switching devices. There may be other cases where you get a code, but this will only be required immediately after entering your correct password.
Codes are only sent to validate that it is truly you attempting to log in.
An authenticator app generates a unique, time-sensitive code that changes frequently (e.g., every 30 seconds). This code is used with your password when logging into your account.
You can install an authenticator app to your smartphone or other mobile device or on your desktop computer.
This is the second part of the two-step verification process.
How do I download the authenticator app?
Install the latest version of the app, based on your operating system.
We suggest Google Authenticator™, Duo Mobile, or Microsoft Authenticator.
For Mobile
On your Android device, go to Google Play to download and install the app.
On your Apple iOS device, go to the App Store to download and install the app.
For Desktop
To download an authenticator on your desktop computer, open your browser and download an authenticator extension/add on.
Browsers may include: Google Chrome, MS Edge, or Safari.
Try and enter your code again. If it’s still not working, you can click on the “request a new verification code” link in the error message.
If you got locked out, the cause may have been because you entered your code incorrectly too many times.
To get unlocked, you can LiveChat with us anytime 24/7.
