Woodbine Entertainment Group (“WEG”) offers three breeds of racing: Thoroughbred, Standardbred, and Quarter Horse racing. Each breed has its own unique characteristics and racing styles.
Thoroughbred horse racing is a sport where fast, athletic horses race on a track with a jockey riding them. Races are usually between 1/2 mile and 2 miles long.
Standardbred racing is harness racing where horses trot or pace while pulling a sulky, known for speed, stamina, and consistency on oval tracks.
Quarter Horse racing is a sprint race over short distances (typically 1/4 mile), showcasing Quarter Horse’s explosive speed and quick acceleration.

If a horse you wagered on is removed or “scratched” from a racing event after you've placed your bet, your wager will be cancelled, and the stake will be refunded to your account. This applies to all bet types where the scratched horse was included. Refunds are typically processed shortly after the race is completed.

If betting for a race has closed (i.e. once the race starts), you won’t be able to build a bet slip — you’ll see a message that says: “Sorry, betting is currently closed for this race.” If you’re in the middle of placing a bet and try to confirm after betting has closed, you’ll receive an error message that says: “Race is closed. No further bets are allowed.” In either case, your wager will not be accepted once the race is no longer open for betting.
You cannot cancel or cashout a wager – all placed bets are final.
